About Stefan

Dr. Pasymowski is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon's Couples & Family Therapy Program and holds a Certificate of Gerontology from Virginia Tech. He sees the issues that initially bring clients to therapy through a systemic lens, meaning that Stefan appreciates the influence of family, social, societal, and other contextual factors that are often an important focus of the therapy process.

Believing that all behavior makes sense given the context in which it occurs, Stefan enjoys fostering greater self-awareness of clients’ cognitive, emotional, and relational processes that lays the foundation for lasting and meaningful change. Stefan’s work is also guided by the belief that people have the inherent tendency toward healing and growth, and that a caring and trusting relationship with a therapist can help facilitate change. His warmth, humor, and authenticity make clients feel at ease.

Stefan works with individuals, couples, and families addressing a variety of presenting issues, including substance use/misuse, issues related to aging and family caregiving, family transitions, including the launching stage to adulthood, depression, anxiety, and family of origin issues.

In his free time, Stefan enjoys hiking and backpacking, swimming, reading about space exploration and photography.
